Top 25 Work at Home Mom Blogs

I’ve been home with my kids for over 12 years now. When I first came home, I wasn’t sure I’d make it one year, and now it’s been over a decade. Amazing.

When I was working full-time at my corporate job, I had a few mom friends (and knew of several others) who quit to stay at home (some in a big, showy way), while the rest of us glared angrily celebrated their good fortune. Then, within six months, before the jealousy sadness of their departure had even worn off, they were back at work again.

What? They had escaped the corporate rat race and came back? Why?

Some mentioned they had financial struggles that were too hard to overcome. Others missed the adult interaction and found it too challenging to be home with kids all day. Each had a heart-breaking story of why they chose to come back to work. And I’ve heard stories like these over and over again.

So you can probably understand why I am somewhat amazed that several years after leaving my job I’m still home.

How Work at Home Mom Blogs Helped Me

I don’t consider myself any better or smarter than any of the others who chose to return to work. Who knows…perhaps if I were in their exact same shoes, I might have chosen the same path they did.

But what has helped me last as long as I have is that I was determined, I prayed (a lot), and I became a student of work at home mom blogs–those moms who successfully made the transition from working mom to work at home mom. I watched them, followed them, did what they did, read what they read, interacted with them, and learned from them. And before I knew it, several years had passed.

So who did I learn from and what did I learn?

There are a zillion (okay, maybe thousands) of great blogs for work at home moms out there, enough for you to find several to fit your work focus and your personality.

One main lesson I learned from each of them is the importance of starting your own blog. So, if you’re reading this and don’t have a blog, but want to start one, I have created an easy, step-by-step tutorial on how to start a mom blog that earns you money.

Do Work at Home Mom Blogs Make Money?

Have you ever wondered if those mom blogs you see all over the internet actually make any money? Well, I did some digging, and the answer is a resounding YES! I can personally say that mom blogs can definitely bring in some extra cash, or even turn into a full-time job.

There are many ways to monetize a blog, such as affiliate marketing, sponsored posts, and advertisements. It might take some time and effort to build up your following and start earning a significant income, but it’s definitely possible to make money blogging.

How Many Hours Does the Average Stay-at-Home Mom Work?

Let’s be real, as a work at home mom, you never really stop working. There’s always something to do, whether it’s taking care of the kids, managing the household, or working on your blog. According to a survey by Salary.com, stay-at-home moms work an average of 96 hours per week. Yikes!

What Do Work at Home Moms Blog About?

The beauty of having your own blog is that you can write about whatever you’re passionate about. Some popular topics for work at home mom blogs include parenting, cooking, home decor, fashion, and self-care. The key is to find a niche that you enjoy and that your audience can relate to.

How Do I Start a Blog as a Work at Home Mom?

Starting a blog can seem overwhelming, but it’s actually pretty simple. Here are the basic steps:

  1. Choose a name and domain: Come up with a catchy name for your blog and purchase a domain name.
  2. Pick a platform: There are many blogging platforms to choose from, such as WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace. Do some research to find the one that’s right for you.
  3. Create content: Start writing and publishing blog posts that your audience will find interesting and informative. Don’t forget to promote your blog on social media to attract more readers.
  4. Monetize your blog: Once you’ve built up a following, you can start monetizing your blog through sponsored content, affiliate marketing, and advertising.

Again, I created an easy, step-by-step tutorial on how to start a mom blog that earns you money. It goes through the entire process of starting a mom blog.
